Against government takeover of health care
Congress has refused to include language in the health care bill to prohibit the federal use of tax dollars for abortion. This is not just a political issue; it is a moral issue! A reason to oppose this legislation is because the unborn child has just as much right to live as any other innocent human being.
If you feel it would be wrong to kill an innocent human being sleeping peacefully in his or her own home, then you should certainly agree it would be wrong to kill a little innocent unborn baby. When God established human government in Genesis 9:6, He laid down this basic principle: 6 “Whoso sheddeth man's blood, by man shall his blood be shed: for in the image of God made He man.” God has never changed this fundamental responsibility of human government--to protect innocent human life. Whoever breaks God's commandment in this regard will face His judgment because “it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment” (Hebrews 9:27).
It does not make sense to have a government takeover of health care. It is a delusion to think that the government is benevolent; the government represents power. The government could forbid you to purchase the insurance of your choice and to receive the medical treatment of your choice. The government could forbid you to pay a particular doctor-making it a punishable crime. The government could have complete control over medical records and could require doctors to file medical records with the government.
The government could deny health care. It could impose unacceptable fees on doctors and patients. Most people (81 percent) feel it will make health care cost more. Many (78 percent) feel it will raise taxes on the middle class, increase the deficit (66 percent), and hurt the economy (57 percent). The government could abuse people with supposed health care. Heavy taxes would be imposed. It is against common sense to expect Americans to buy a big government health care pig in a poke.
