Christian letters state misguided opinions

Mr. Price, it’s interesting that you can mention the Ten Commandments, moral guidelines and turn your eyes away all in the same letter. I’ll bet that was hard to do.

Do you turn your eyes away when you see a copy of “The Last Supper,” a photo, statue, statuette, bust of Christ, Christ on the cross or a Nativity scene? You should; they’re all graven images according to Exodus 20:4.

I read entirely too often in The Register-Herald’s ”Our Readers Speak” column somebody sharing their misguided opinion that the U.S. was founded on Christian beliefs and principles.

I can’t find God or Christ mentioned anywhere in either the Declaration of Independence or the U.S. Constitution, but I can find several signatures on both of these documents that are Jewish signatures.

Could it be that it was the Jewish who spurred the colonists to revolt against King George?

We must remember that between 1607 and 1776, a lot of people came to this country seeking religious freedom.

The Catholics settled around what is now Boston, the Mennonites in Pennsylvania, the Baptists in the Hampton Roads area of Virginia and several other religions in several other locations.

Science exists to prove the Bible to be right, but can’t.

Hot, dry climates such as that found around Mount Ararat in Turkey preserve wood much like what is found in the Petrified Forest National Park in Arizona. Why hasn’t anyone found even a trace of Noah’s Ark?

Most of the world believes in limited evolution such as what Darwin found: that finches found on the Galapagos Islands evolved different beaks for different food sources than those finches found in North and South America. The same is true for hummingbirds found in North and South America, different beaks for different flowers.

Stephen Hawking proved that Einstein’s 1920s theory that dark energy, aka dark matter, is the force that holds all matter in the universe together is true.

If Adam and Eve had not eaten of the forbidden fruit, might God have given them all of the knowledge of the universe and made it possible for Noah’s Ark to be a space ship instead of a wooden boat?
