Our country needsto rebuild its morals
There are many issues of great concern in the United States in government. Just where are our leaders taking us? It appears a pool of confusion. There seems to be a lack of one thing essential — a love and desire for what is best for the other person.
Treat others the way you want to be treated! There aren’t many examples of this anymore. Everyone seems to be just looking out for themselves with no regard for how it affects others. No man is an island.
You see those in charge showing partiality and bullying to get their own way with no regard to wrong or right. Shame on politicians and those in charge, whether of a bank, church or civic organization, who are not looking out for all involved. I know that is not easy. The right things are rarely easy. But it takes integrity and courage to do what is right in this world of anything goes.
The gun issues and freedoms that we are crying out for are not going to be solved by yet another law. Laws often are misinterpreted or improperly enforced. It will not be solved by addressing mental issues by government when people feel and live hopeless of any betterment.
The hope we all want and need is not more government programs that reward people for doing nothing. We need government to quit handing out cell phones and things most of us work hard for. We need our government to look out for all the people of the United States, not just those who have learned they can get by working the system whether native or foreigner.
And when it comes to same sex marriage, I just have to say it is wrong. If it were normal, why can’t children be born this way. We were not created for this. It is a distortion of the truth. We have become self-absorbed with no regard to circumstances or consequences. Think of the AIDS outbreak. People are confused.
We need men and women to stand for truth and what is right, even if it hurts. But I fear that they don’t even know how to find truth anymore.
“Do unto other as you would have them do to you” is a beginning, a foundation to try to rebuild the morals and hope that we so desperately need. Learning to think differently.
