Time for Fayette to use funds wisely

I am glad to see that the new superintendent of schools is a person who realizes the importance that schools have in the communities. Schools are the binder in our communities that bring our communities together.

They provide a chance for the youth in the local area to participate in after-school functions without traveling miles away from home.

In these hard financial times it is schools that provide the stabilization to the area that helps everyone feel that not all is bad, that good times are going to come.

The people of Fayette County have fought many expensive battles to retain our schools in the communities. The state has wasted thousands of dollars to try to force what they thought was best — not what the people wanted.

It is time to work together and use our funds wisely for what is best for the children and community. I’m sure that the voters in Fayette County will vote for and approve overwhelmingly any bond measures that will ensure that our local schools remain in the communities.
