Glen Morgan road is falling apart every day
I hope the “well to do” enjoys the new paved streets in White Sulphur Springs, while we watch the road in Glen Morgan break away more every day.
Heavy traffic and tractor-trailers are breaking the road, and the guardrail soon will fall into the creek. The road will follow. A DOH supervisor in Charleston said, “It should have already been fixed.” I guess they took our highway tax dollars to redo Route 60.
Do the people who travel U.S. 19 feel safe on this area of the road? Do you like your highway tax dollars at work? When will the road in Glen Morgan be fixed? My guess is when the guardrail falls in, and the road gives way, and someone is hurt or killed. So what’s the problem?
Where’s the contractor the Raleigh County DOH supervisor said would start the job within 10 days? This was in April. Where have the ditch lines been cleaned out? The only ditches we’ve seen cleaned have been done by Mother Nature. Glen Morgan is also the only place I’ve ever seen water run uphill in the ditches. The mosquitos love it.
All utilities want a raise. Now the CO-MAC PSD wants one. We people on Social Security didn’t get one and probably won’t get one next year. When PSD started, they said the rates wouldn’t go up, but now they will, no matter what. Most retired people on checks can’t afford all the raises everybody wants when we don’t get a raise in our checks to make up the difference.

Thanks for letter supporting president
I would like to thank Greg Crist for his letter. As he wrote, the facts are that the fiscal situation we are in is not a recent creation, but a result of the $1.3 trillion deficit inherited from the Bush administration. At the beginning of 2000 our nation enjoyed a $230 billion surplus, thanks to the Clinton administration. It amazes me also, that people cannot feel good about the fact that every person in America will be able to obtain health care and that by 2011 all health insurers will need to spend 85 percent of the premium dollars on actually providing care. We know that health care will improve over time. How can people not realize this?
I am so proud of the fact that our president is willing to meet with other world leaders in an atmosphere of trust and integrity.
And last and most important, I thank Mr. Crist for writing. “If all of us who say ‘God Bless America’ truly want this to happen, then we should start to look at things in a realistic way and not spew the venom, lies and hate that comes from the far right that have divided this country, and support what is right for our people, our land, our ideas, our principles and our world.”
Thank you again, Greg Crist, for writing a wonderful letter. And let’s pray for our president and our country.
