God does condemn the LGBT lifestyle
I would like to address a recent letter to Our Readers Speak by Christopher A. Burroughs of Cool Ridge.
From reading his statements, evidently Burroughs leans to the left and has never thoroughly read, studied or researched our State Codes or the Holy Bible.
Burroughs refuses to accept the fact that a majority of West Virginians do not recognize or condone the abominable LGBT lifestyle chosen by a minority here. This is confirmed by our elected representatives in the state Legislature and our elected federal officials in the United States Senate and House of Representatives.
Although the United States Supreme Court has ruled the Defense Of Marriage Act (DOMA) unconstitutional, our liberal United States Senator, Jay Rockefeller, has admitted, “I myself am not comfortable with same sex marriage, and I want to assure every West Virginian that our definition of marriage — and our right to define marriage as we believe it — is not in jeopardy.”
Rockefeller was in reference to West Virginia Code 48-2-104(c) which states, “Marriage is designed to be a loving union between a woman and a man.”
From a biblical standpoint, I urge Christopher to research the books of Leviticus, Romans, I Corinthians and I Timothy to see that God does indeed condemn the LGBT lifestyle.
While Jesus Christ does love “those” of His creation, His acceptance of “them” depends on whether or not “they” accept Him and follow His commandments as laid out in the books of the Holy Writ. His commandments, like Him, have not changed. The books of Malachi and Hebrews make this clear.
Scripture reveals that “those” who love Him must be obedient to Him. Scripture condemns not only abominable LGBT relationships, but all manners and methods of sin. It is not only a “right” for every God-fearing, Bible-believing, right-thinking man and woman to oppose this type of chosen lifestyle, and all other sinful ways of life, it is their responsibility to do so!
These words are not said out of hate or anger, but out of love and concern with the hope that “the blind will see and the deaf will hear.” It is not history’s judgment that should concern us or which side of history we stand on.
The only thing that should concern us is Christ’s final judgment and where we end up — Heaven or Hell.
