BOE president should not have fired Marple

This letter concerns Board President Wade Linger. It is in my opinion as a minister and church member that it was very wrong, as he is state Board of Education president, behind closed doors in a session to fire Superintendent Jorea Marple. This is my personal opinion.

If necessary, I will start a petition to have Mr. Linger and his board removed from their office.

History of education shows no decency

I am writing this letter in reference to the news about the state superintendent of West Virginia schools. I don’t know this lady at all. She might not be worth a plug nickel for all I know, but it’s rather obvious someone wants to give their friend or relative a job.

This has been the history of education all the way down to the very least of employees. It seems the right thing to do is to give one a two- or four-week notice and not to hit someone blindsided.

This shows they have no decency for staff and probably no concern for the school children as well. You can’t blame her for the woes of Fayette County because it was not the only county in trouble long before she came on the scene.

This is the good ole boys at work once again. It is little wonder why there are so many private schools and home schooling coming of age nowadays.
