Sharing a letter to Joe Manchin
I’m writing this letter to let you know that I voted for you for governor and senator. Now I’m letting you know that most likely I will not be voting for you again, as most people in West Virginia will not.
You see, I and most people in West Virginia are conservative Democrats. We trusted you to govern in the Senate and as you campaigned you led us to believe you would not jeopardize our constitutional rights.
You posed with your hunting rifle leading us to believe you would fight for our Second Amendment rights, but as soon as you got in office you sided with the ultra liberals and the Obama administration. You want to pass a law for all gun sales to have a background check. You have stated that this will not keep guns out of the hands of criminals, so why would you have to get a background check, other than to let the government know who has guns and how many guns we have and the serial number of that gun?
Sen. Manchin, I and my wife have concealed weapons permits. To get this permit the sheriff of our county does a background check to see if there is any reason we should not be allowed to have and to carry a weapon.
This certificate lets our law officers know that the bearer has been investigated and found to be a lawful person, and this certificate should be enough for us to purchase and sell our firearms. The certificate has our picture ID, and if we break any law that would disqualify us from carrying a weapon. It will be taken from us and we won’t be allowed to have any guns in our home or on our person.
Sen. Manchin, the government has no right to know what lawful item I buy or sell. The Second Amendment gives me this right. Please don’t try to take it away from me.
I am proud to be a West Virginian and I would like to be proud of my representatives in government. Please govern for our state and nation in the way our Constitution and our God would have you to govern.
May God bless our nation and you.
