Shame on writer of pro-abortion letter

I am writing in response to the letter that recently appeared in your paper. This letter was to point out how all of us poor, misguided pro-life people should envision how the lives of “unwanted” babies are miserable, and how it would be better if they had never been born.

The supreme irony of this letter did not escape me. The author chose to quote the Bible and tell us about God. Shame on you, sir. How dare you quote God’s Word to justify murder? Furthermore, how dare you presume to know God’s will?

You say these babies would be better off if they had never been born. Do YOU know why they were born? Are YOU privy to God’s plan?

The most horrific statement came at the end, where you quoted Peter, hoping to make the point of not meddling in men’s lives. Did you also notice in the same verse where he tells us not to commit murder? How about those pesky Ten Commandments? Thou shalt not kill? Ring any bells?

I despise the condescending attitude of abortion supporters. Every abortion advocate I have ever spoken to is so versed in political BS that it is frightening.

My daughter and my sister both suffer from severe disabilities. Many would argue it would be better if they had never been born. Should they have been aborted? Maybe they should be mercifully put to death now to save them from further suffering. That is the slippery slope elective abortion puts us on.

I am not a scientist, a theologian or a politician, but I do have common sense. Life begins at conception, and any purposeful ending of that life is murder. Please save me your arguments about rape and incest. Virtually none of the abortions performed in our society today are because of rape or incest. They are to prevent these “boarder” babies that seem to concern Mr. Martin. In truth, that’s not even true — they are done as a matter of convenience.

I fear for the future of our children, our nation and our world. And God help us if the Devil is going to start using the Bible to justify his evil deeds.
