Don’t sit and watch our freedoms disappear
Sardis was once considered to be one of the greatest cities in the world. Sardis was approximately 1,500 feet above the valley built on a mountain spur. It was considered impregnable to military assault.
The citizens of Sardis let their guard down and the city fell, once to the Persians and once to the Greeks. Sardis had become overconfident and complacent.
Today, the citizens on the United States have also become overconfident and complacent. We are about to be overrun by a totalitarian government run by corrupt officials.
I could never imagine a government sending the Gestapo (IRS) to investigate and harass a group of people and organizations because of their viewpoint. Then we have the Justice Department targeting journalists and their families. I guess the First Amendment to the Constitution does not matter to this president.
These actions are reminiscent of Nazi Germany, the Soviet Union and China. We complain about human rights abuses in other countries, yet 50 million babies have been aborted in the United States.
The government is moving in the direction of approving gay marriage, while stripping God from our schools.
I cannot stay silent any longer. I urge everyone reading this letter to get involved. Do not sit on the sidelines and watch our freedoms disappear.
I will leave you with two quotes: “When the people fear the government, there is tyranny. When the government fears the people, there is liberty.” — Thomas Jefferson
“It is impossible to rightly govern a nation without God and the Bible.” — George Washington
