Traffic on Eisenhower is a real bad problem




Something needs to be done about drivers blocking the intersection at Cranberry Creek. I have sat through five or six lights because drivers on Eisenhower will not leave the road clear for the cars leaving Lowe’s and other stores trying to enter from McCulloch Drive at the traffic signal.

The police should be there for a while, sitting nearby, watching how the cars block the intersection. They could issue lots of tickets every day at nearly any hour, but especially at 4 to 5 o’clock on Fridays!

I know people are in a hurry to get home, but so is the person trying to get on to Eisenhower.

Traffic is bad enough without deliberately breaking the law. Lights could be timed better, or I’ve even thought of digging a hole that would swallow the cars blocking the street. Talk about desperate measures!

Also, there has to be something done about stop signs in front of Food Lion, or at least a pedestrian walkway, before someone is killed! Cars run through there at 40 to 50 mph while the driver is talking on the phone or otherwise not paying attention to foot traffic coming out of the store. Someone’s child, parent or grandparent is going to be badly injured or killed one day.
