Bush’s terror stance should prompt outrage
ABC reported a story about the president’s agreeing that he approved the National Security Council’s decision to put torture techniques at the hands of those who interrogate prisoners of our “war on terror.”
He approved! That means the mistreatment of prisoners came from the top down — not from the bottom up as we were led to believe. Abu Ghraib was the result of orders of the president himself.
Where is the press? Why is this story not reported in every newspaper in the land? This is a criminal act. Perhaps we’ll have to write letters to the editor in every newspaper in the country to get this story out.
We, as people of the greatest nation on earth, should be appalled and embarrassed. Where is our indignation? Why are we so apathetic? We need to stand up and say, “No more.”
These people, including Bush, Powell, Rice, Rumsfeld, Cheney, et al, should be held accountable for their crime. If any act calls for impeachment, this one does.

Everyone must give respect to get respect
In response to Scotty Moore, where you are from, I have no idea. As a whole, we West Virginians will show respect as long as respect is received.
Be a responsible, hard-working citizen and I think you will see a true West Virginian. We have no beef about your color, but if the younger generation has not been taught respect for other humans, what do you expect? I’m nearing 70 years old and I can say that I’ve met and worked with some fine black people who have also been great friends. It comes back to my statement above: They were hard workers and showed respect.
Teach the kids to respect others and you’ll see a big difference in the way you’re treated! By the way I have never had any room in my life for the lazy red or black necks!
Have a nice day.
