UPDATE: 2 children killed, 5 people injured in Elkins fire

ELKINS — Authorities are investigating a house fire in Elkins that killed two children and injured five other people.

Elkins Fire Chief Tom Meader says the fire occurred around 4 a.m. Monday at a two-story wood and masonry house.

Meader says two children died in the fire. He didn’t know their ages or gender.

Two other children and three adults were injured. They were taken to West Penn Hospital in Pittsburgh. The adults included the children’s parents and another family member.
