Miner killed Wednesday following accident at Boone County mine

Several West Virginia media outlets are reporting that a roof bolter died in a Charleston hospital from injuries sustained in an accident at Newtown Energy's Rachel Racine coal mine near Comfort late Wednesday afternoon.

No other details of the fatal accident were immediately available.

The mine is operated by Patriot Coal.
