Widespread power outages reported

More than 30,000 in region impacted as of 8:30 a.m. Tuesday

Appalachian Power is reporting widespread power outages throughout the region including more than 11,000 AEP customers in Fayette County and 8,000 in Raleigh County. Total reported outages in southeastern West Virginia are more than 30,000.

Additional snowfall and high winds are expected to continue throughout the region into Wednesday and more outages are likely.
