Four students taken to hospital after spray released on bus

— Four Raleigh County students were transported to local hospitals for medical treatment after mace or pepper spray was released on a county school bus Friday afternoon.

At approximately 3 p.m. a Raleigh County School bus pulled off the road and into the parking lot at the Go-Mart on South Eisenhower Drive. Multiple ambulances, police and emergency crews were dispatched and responded to the scene.

Four students were taken to hospitals for medical treatment after being overcome by the spray and according to Dave Traube, spokesman for Raleigh County schools, all were treated and released later in the afternoon.

Traube said schools system officials are reviewing the video recording from inside the bus to try and identify the person or persons responsible for releasing the spray.
