Hazmat crews called out to crash of tractor-trailer and car

Raleigh County Emergency Operations Center confirmed a tractor-trailer and one passenger car crash on I-77 at mile marker 42 near the Mabscott exit just before 1 p.m. Thursday.

Jan-Care Ambulance, Mabscott, Bradley and Beckley fire departments were still on scene at 2 p.m.

EOC operators said injuries were possible, but no transports had yet been made.

The accident was described as “serious” and hazmat cleanup crews were en route at 1:50 p.m.

Southbound lanes are reported open, but northbound traffic lanes are shut down at this time.
