Chick-Fil-A Leadercast conference to air May 10

For the third year, community members from all walks of life are invited to the Chick-Fil-A Leadercast to be broadcast live from Atlanta on May 10 to sites across the world, including Cross Point Church of God in Beckley.

Terri Baker, workforce education coordinator for New River Community and Technical College, said last year, more than 100,000 leaders from 14 countries attended Leadercast and attendance this year is expected to exceed all previous 13 years.

Locally, more than 100 attended last year and even more are expected to take part this year, she said.

This year’s program, “Simple Lead,” will focus on how to simplify your daily life so that leadership qualities can thrive.

“Anyone can benefit from this leadership conference. We get the best of the best live and have the opportunity to ask questions and learn effective leadership skills,” she said.

This year the conference will feature Mike Krzysewski, head men’s basketball coach for Duke University; Lt. Cmdr. Rorke Denver, Navy SEAL; Sanya Richards-Ross, 2012 London Olympic gold medalist; and authors Jack Welch, John Maxwell, Henry Cloud and David Allen.

“It is rare that in our community, if ever, we can get an opportunity to hear these kinds of champions of leadership,” said Chick-Fil-A owner and sponsor Richard Jarrell. “These are giants that people pay all kinds of money to go see and we are able to bring their wisdom to Beckley for a nominal fee. It is a great opportunity to get inspired, recharge your batteries and to pick up on something new.”

Tickets for this inspirational conference are $59.95 and can be purchased by calling Terri Baker at 304-647-6570 or Gloria Kincaid at 304-793-6101. Lunch is included.

The Leadercast will be at Cross Point Church of God on Crescent Road in Beckley.

This Beckley site is being sponsored by New River Community and Technical College.
