River levels remained manageable after a rainy morning that led the National Weather Service to issue a flood advisory for Greenbrier County.
According to Joe Coughlin at the county’s Homeland Security and Emergency Management office, roadways running through tunnels at Harts Run and the Monroe Draft were temporarily closed around midday Monday due to a stream spilling out of its banks.
“The stream runs through the tunnels under the railroad along with the road,” Coughlin explained.
In Raleigh County, C&O Dam Road was closed as local authorities advised motorists 'not to drive through water that is completely covering a road.'
