Flash flood watch issued for most of West Virginia

The National Weather Service has issued a flash-flood watch for most of West Virginia, including the cities of Mullens, Oceana, Pineville, Beckley, Oak Hill, Fayetteville and Summersville.

The ground is already soaked, and widespread showers and thunderstorms will continue to move across the state.

The heaviest rains will continue through this evening when they will start to diminish. The threat of creeks and rivers overflowing will continue into Friday.

Rainfall totals today could be as much as 1.5 inches.

The high today will be 65, and cooler temperatures only reaching the low 60s are forecast for Friday and Saturday.
