Morning turnpike wreck sends one to hospital

A vehicle accident on the West Virginia Turnpike sent one person to the hospital Thursday morning.

Although communications personnel at the Turnpike Authority said only, “he wrecked and it was cleaned up in 30 minutes,” Raleigh County Emergency Operations Center said the vehicle flipped.

The EOC spokeswoman said she was not aware of the extent of the person’s injuries nor of his current condition.

Raleigh County EMS, West Virginia State Police and the Courtesy Patrol responded to the 7:53 a.m. accident.
