Fayette County Emergency Operations dispatchers reported several water rescues in the valley Friday night, following a severe thunderstorm in the area.
A woman who was stuck in her vehicle contacted the EOC around 9:18 p.m. to report that her car had been washed off Hawver Road in Hico.
Water was coming into the car, and she was unable to free herself, officials said.
Nuttall, Ansted and Oak Hill firefighters and the Swift Water Rescue Unit responded to the call, along with Fayette County Sheriff’s deputies and Jan Care.
The woman was rescued, and no injuries were reported, officials said.
Fayette Sheriff’s Deputy L.A. Clay is investigating the incident.
Several other water rescues were performed, officials reported.
Around 8:45 p.m., firefighters responded to a rescue call at Victor Post Office Road in Victor.
At 9:11 p.m. on Hopewell Road in Victor, a third water rescue was performed.
The fire department and details are not known at this time.
No flooding was reported in Raleigh or Summers counties Friday night or early Saturday, officials said.
