BOYS RESULTS
Woodrow Wilson 1,
Cabell Midland 0
Chandler DeWese scored in the 38th minute from a Jared Morgan pass as the 12th-ranked Flying Eagles turned back the 16th-rated Knights.
Woodrow (8-1-1) owned a 7-3 advantage in shots on goal. Keeper William Turner had three saves while Midland’s Tyler Hetzer had six.
The Flying Eagles also won the JV game 1-0 on a goal by Travis Cole. They beat Capital 1-0 Tuesday night 1-0 on a penalty kick by Corey Jenkins.
Woodrow plays at Wheeling Park Saturday.

Mountain State Academy 1, Nicholas County 0
Kate Armentrout scored the lone goal to lift the Falcons to a win Thursday at the YMCA Youth Sports Complex in Beckley.
MSA keeper Zac Smith recorded eight saves.
MSA (5-4-2) plays Teays Valley Christian at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at the YMCA Youth Sports Complex.

GIRLS RESULTS
Princeton 1, PikeView 0
GARDNER — Tesla Akers found the back of the net from a Kelly Pawlowski assist as the Tigers won a defensive struggle.
Princeton held a 9-3 edge in shots on goal. Keeper Amanda Trail had three saves while the Panthers’ Skieler Hamb had seven.
The Tigers, now 6-6, host defending state champion Parkersburg at noon Saturday. PikeView (3-3-1) plays Shady Spring at 6 p.m. Monday at the YMCA Youth Sports Complex.

Cabell Midland 3,
Woodrow Wilson 2
HUNTINGTON — The host Knights pulled out the win on a penalty kick.
Katy Carte and Kayla Rodriguez scored goals for the 5-3 Flying Eagles, who host Huntington at 6 p.m. Tuesday.
Megan Alderman, Bre Wood, Cyndal Wharton and Monique Oye found the back of the net as Woodrow won the JV game 4-2.
Nicholas County 5,
Wyoming East 1
SUMMERSVILLE — Amber Adkins and Carolyn Symes scored two goals apiece as the Grizzlies avenged an earlier 5-3 loss.
Leni Childers added the final goal for Nicholas.
Kelsey Mullins scored the goal for East. The freshman had scored all five goals in the previous match with Nicholas.
Chelsea Thompson had five keeper saves and Brittany Sesko had four for the Warriors. Nicholas’ Shala Naylor had three.
Wyoming East (2-5-1) hosts Bluefield at 7 p.m. Monday.

Midland Trail 5, James Monroe 1
LINDSIDE — Midland Trail’s Shay Mercer recorded a hat trick in a win over James Monroe Wednesday.
Teammate Missy Dickenson chipped in a goal and an assist, while Hannah Fitzwater added another goal.
Samantha Young had three assists for the Patriots.
Midland Trail (8-2) plays at Greenbrier East at 11 a.m. Saturday.
