Celebrity Night 2014

The 26th Annual Celebrity Night will be held May 5 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at 10 area restaurants, four new to the event. Local “celebrities” from a variety of businesses will act as servers during those three hours.

The tips they earn, not only from serving, but also doing the bidding of their customers, will benefit the United Way of Southern West Virginia and the Women’s Resource Center.

Each restaurant will offer chances to win a $600 photography package from Brightwell Photography.

The theme is simple — anyone can be a celebrity on Celebrity Night! People are asked to snap those selfies and send them to #celebnight14 and the United Way’s Facebook page!

Participating restaurants and their partners are:

•Black Knight Country Club    - City of Beckley, WJLS 99.5

•Boston Beanery - Crossroads Mall, Crossroads Chevrolet, WVNS, United Bank

•Calacino’s - BJW Printing, Spartans Sporting Goods, Jan- Care, Hayden & Hart, 4Raleigh/4ward

What has happened to the old Boggs’ Bait Shop building and the former home of Ray and Elfa Boggs at the foot of Raleigh Hill in Beaver is more transfiguration than transformation. 304 ChopHouse owners J.P. Hunter and Anita Hunter are a pair of discriminating do-it-yourselfers — and they’ve proved from rave reviews about their new restaurant to be more than just what meets the eye. The food arriving from the immaculate kitchen bearing the titular 3-0-4 area code is as surprising an experience as the interior and exterior overhaul.
