Local DivorceCare spring session to begin Feb. 18

BECKLEY — DivorceCare will begin its spring session Feb. 18 at the Christian Resource Center. The group meets at 7 p.m. at 300 N. Kanawha St., across from Raleigh County Public Library.

The-13 week session is open to those who have experienced or are currently experiencing separation or divorce. DivorceCare consists of a set of video lessons presented by experts on various topics familiar to those going through the circumstances surrounding divorce. Some of the topics include depression, loneliness, finances, children, anger, and dating.

A workbook is available at a cost of $17, which will be used to follow the videos and which includes an “On Your Own” section for participants to complete between sessions.

The 13-week DivorceCare group is open, and participants are welcome to begin at any session. After a participant completes a session, he may choose to attend additional groups and there is no cost to return. New groups form in September and early spring.

DivorceCare groups meet throughout the world, and the website that will give you more information is It is a faith-based, nondenominational group.

The local group is facilitated by Craig and Linda Spooner of Daniels. The Spooners have been involved in DivorceCare as a participant and as facilitators for several years.
