March of Dimes statistics states that one in every 160 births will be stillborn. Sudden Infant Death Syndrome, or SIDS, will claim 2,000 to 2,500 young lives each year. Over 28,500 babies die every year within their first year of life. And 50 percent of pregnancies will end in miscarriage.
With so many pregnancies and births ending in loss, odds are you or someone you know has been touched by an Angel Baby.
The month of October is Pregnancy and Infant Loss and SIDS Awareness Month (P.A.I.L) and a time to remember all the babies who have left their footprints on our hearts. In cooperation with PAIL Awareness Month, there will be a walk to remember for those gone too soon.
The eighth annual event includes a nature walk and several activities including a small candle-lighting activity, balloon release and a memory board to honor our little ones. There will be a memorial table so please bring pictures, poems or other memorabilia you would like to share. There will also be refreshments, door prizes and P.A.I.L. awareness items for sale.
The walk will be held Oct. 13 at 3 p.m. at Picnic Shelter #2, Glenwood Park, Princeton.
This free event is open to everyone from parents to siblings to aunts and uncles, grandparents and friends who are affected by the loss of a baby.

Registration is optional, but preferred, by Oct. 9 so that we can ensure enough ribbons and refreshments will be available for everyone. If you would like to purchase a personalized T-shirt to commemorate the day, you can call ahead to order one.
For those who cannot attend the walk but want to participate in P.A.I.L awareness month, Oct. 15 is National Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day and all across the world everyone are asked to light a candle at 7 p.m. to create a wave of light in memory of an Angel Baby.
