Fundraisers set for Greenbrier Relay for Life

— Jim’s Drive-In Cruisin’ for a Cure Team has scheduled fund-raisers for the American Cancer Society Relay for Life - Greenbrier County.

Supporters may pick up fliers at Jim’s Drive-In on Rt. 60 West in Lewisburg, and Hair Fantastic in Red Oaks Shopping Center, Fairlea.

Luminaria bags can be purchased at the flea market for $5 if you decorate them and $8 if team members decorate them. Decorate a bag in memory of someone who had cancer, in honor of someone fighting cancer, in honor of a cancer survivor, or with any message about cancer. The bags will be placed around the track at Modlin Field and will be illuminated after dark. The names of people on the luminaria bags will also be displayed on a big screen at the event.

The Relay for Life is scheduled for 11 a.m. to midnight Saturday, June 21, at Modlin Field next to Greenbrier Valley Medical Center and is open to the public. There will be lots of fun activities to participate in.

The American Cancer Society uses its funding to research causes and cures for cancer, to provide programs to educate the community, and to provide programs to help people battle cancer.
