Books being collected to help soldiers overseas

For The Register-Herald

BECKLEY — Many of our troops are serving far from home and living in facilities that provide few of the comforts of home.

Our service members make sacrifices every day for our country. It takes so little to let them know that we appreciate what they are doing for us.

Something as simple as a good book can be a welcome comfort for those that are putting their lives on the line for us.

From March 25 to April 6, Dr. Daniel Boggs and Boggs Chiropractic Center will be collecting new and lightly used books to donate to Operation Paperback, a nonprofit organization that collects books nationwide and sends them to American troops overseas. Since 1999, they have shipped over 1.9 million books to locations around the globe.

New patients that donate 10 books will be given an office visit from Dr. Boggs at no charge.

This includes a consultation, examination, computerized spinal scan, and a review of findings. All current patients will receive a gift as well.

Please note that Operation Paperback no longer accepts romance novels.

All other genres are gladly accepted.

To schedule an appointment, call 304-255-4325.

Books can be dropped off at Boggs Chiropractic Center, 1808 Harper Road, Beckley.
