The “States of Nature” Exhibit at Carnegie Hall’s Old Stone Room Gallery, Lewisburg, will host a talk and demonstration by artist Judith Bair at 4 p.m. Dec. 6.
The public is invited to join the artist in discussing this group of oilbar paintings and learning a bit about the oilbar medium.
“Anyone interested in learning more about the processes and evolution of the works on display is welcome,” Bair says, “This 25-year retrospective is a real gift to me; rarely does an artist get to see her work over such a span of time in one place.”
Bair’s work is based in the natural processes of existence — birth, life, decay and dying — and the connection between physical and metaphysical sources of meaning. Known locally for her landscape paintings, she welcomes this opportunity to show these more metaphorical and iconic subjects.
The exhibit is on display until Jan. 24. Gallery hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. More information is available at 304-645-7917 or 304-772-4568.
