Once upon a Tellabration, 4 storytellers...

Four storytellers will tell tales of ghosts, memories and uh-ohs during Tellabration Nov. 17 at 5 p.m. at Tamarack’s Hulett C. Smith Theater.

One of the tellers will be Terry W. Farley, a comedian/storyteller who shares stories related to education and life’s everyday situations. Farley has a unique talent of making everyday events take on a whole new perspective. His personal experiences make up the background for most of his stories.

Jason Burns’ special interest is ghost stories. He seeks to teach as well as entertain, and through his storytelling the audiences learn about West Virginia culture and history. In addition to storytelling, Burns also enjoys ghost hunts. His travels and storytelling performances have taken him to every single county in West Virginia. He is constantly on the lookout for new stories.

Danny McMillion has entertained the community for years with stories of her cats, published in The Post Report. She likes telling stories that stretch the truth near the unbelievable. Recently, McMillion taught “Lying for Beginners” at First Baptist Church in Rainelle. She claims she has been telling lies more years than most of you have been alive.

Sue Atkinson grew up in a small southern town in Georgia. Her dad always made his work day sound like so much fun, she wanted to become a plumber just like him. Then she discovered she didn’t like getting down in a muddy ditch or crawling under houses with spiders and yucky things. She decided she could tell her own stories of childhood in a southern town.

William Scott Hill will be the master of ceremonies for Tellabration. Hill is a favorite in the surrounding communities and is well known for his storytelling abilities. He has organized the annual Liar’s Contest as part of the Appalachian Treasures in August.

There is no admission fee for the event.
