BECKLEY —
Beckley Area Foundation’s annual community grant program will begin with an informative workshop Tuesday, Oct. 30. Distributions Committee Chair Leslei Syner Hinzman and Bill O’Brien, vice chair, will host this 90-minute workshop detailing BAF’s application and grant award process. This informative program is scheduled to begin at 4:30 p.m. in the lower level conference room of the Raleigh County Library, at 221 N. Kanawha Street.
All nonprofit organizations with a 501-c-3 IRS designation, schools and government agencies serving Raleigh County are invited to attend the workshop and encouraged to submit grant requests. Charitable projects in the fields of arts, education, civic beautification, public recreation, health and human services could be considered for a grant. These projects must be planned for implementation between April 1, 2013 and March 31, 2014. Currently, requests are limited to $7,000 per year awarded to a single organization. Deadline for submitting grant applications is Dec. 15.
To sign up for this grant program workshop, contact BAF staff by calling 304-253-3806 or e-mailing info@bafwv.org.
