Student will graduate with perfect attendance

— Michael Young will graduate from Pipestem Christian Academy in Pipestem this month with an achievement few students attain.

Michael is the perfect student — perfect attendance, that is.

He did not miss a day of school from the time he entered kindergarten on through his senior year at PCA.

School administrator Dallas Peyton and Principal Mike Harvey say that Michael’s record reflects that perfect attendance record and that such an achievement is extremely rare.

In speaking of his perfection, Michael said that God has blessed him with good health, adding that he makes an extra effort to go to school each day.

He said he had chicken pox, but had the good fortune not to miss any days because it happened during a holiday break.

He also credits much of his drive to the encouragement of his parents, Allan and Stacie Young, and his supportive teachers at PCA.

Michael has worked in the family business, Young’s Mobile Home Transport, for the past two summers and intends to keep working there while he takes classes to pursue a career in the personal training field.

He enjoys singing and playing guitar at school functions and at his church, Bluestone Baptist Church at Jumping Branch.

Michael is the grandson of Stacy and Bonnie Young of Pipestem and Samuel and Delma Vance of Mount Hope.
