Parents and graduating seniors seeking scholarship information for the upcoming year are encouraged to review Beckley Area Foundation’s scholarship catalog at www.bafwv.org/publications.
Uploaded March 1, this catalog details eligibility criteria and apply for the scholarships managed by BAF. Application submissions must be postmarked by April 1.
Scholarship endowments at the Foundation have grown from four in 1985 to the current 149. To date, BAF’s 27-year scholarship award history totals more than $1.9 million.
Each of these funds held at BAF exists because an individual donor or a group of individuals recognized the cost of pursuing a post-secondary education.
As one donor stated, “Someone helped me and I want to pass that help along.”
Others recognize their graduating class, create a memorial to a loved one, support a field of study or alma mater; but all have students’ financial needs and educational goals at the heart of their gifts.
As in the case of all BAF endowments, anyone may make additional gifts in any amount to these scholarship funds. Make checks payable to BAF and mail to Beckley Area Foundation, 129 Main St., Suite 203, Beckley, WV 25801.
