NRCTC Foundation accepting scholarship applications

— The New River Community and Technical College Foundation is accepting scholarship applications for the 2013-2014 academic year through March 29.

Scholarships are awarded to current students and graduating seniors form high schools in the college’s nine-county service area.

New River serves Fayette, Greenbrier, Mercer, Monroe, Nicholas, Pocahontas, Raleigh, Summers and Webster counties.

Students must attend classes served by one of the college’s five campuses: Beckley, Greenbrier Valley (Lewisburg), Mercer County (Princeton), Nicholas County (Summersville) and the Advanced Technology Center in Ghent.

Applications and further information about the scholarship requirements are available in the student services office on each New River Campus; in the guidance offices of the 22 high schools in the nine-county service area; and in the New River Community and Technical College Library at the Greenbrier Valley Campus.

Completed packets must be received in the foundation office March 29 by 4 p.m.

A completed packet includes application, personal statement (one-page, typewritten document), two letters of recommendation (not from a relative) and a transcript.

Packets should be mailed to New River CTC Foundation, P.O. Box 307, Ghent, WV  25843, or delivered to the Advanced Technology Center at 527 Odd Road in Ghent.

Packets or accompanying documents received after the deadline will not be accepted.

Faxed documents will not be accepted.
