‘Francis, Pope of the New World’ video shown today

Through the cooperation of the Supreme Council, Knights of Columbus and the West Virginia State Council, the premier of the one-hour video, “Francis, Pope of the New World,” for District 8 of the WV Knights will be held today at 6:30 p.m. in the Parish Hall of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, U.S. 60 West, White Sulphur Springs.

The public is invited to join the Alleghany Highlands Council 8689 Knights and their families and St. Charles Borromeo parishioners of for a complimentary homemade soup and sandwich supper which will follow the 5:30 p.m. Vigil Mass in the church and precede the showing of the film.

District 8 consists of Knights of Columbus Councils in Beckley, Princeton, Bluefield, and Welch and Fourth Degree Assemblies in Beckley and Princeton as well as the Alleghany Highlands Council which serves Greenbrier, Monroe, Summers, Pocahontas counties in West Virginia and Bath and Alleghany counties in Virginia, including a Knights Roundtable in Pocahontas County.

The Catholic Church universally observes the Feast of the Chair of St. Peter on Feb. 22, honoring the apostle of Christ who was considered the first in the direct line of Popes in the Roman Catholic Church.
