— The Greenbrier resort will wrap up the inaugural season of its Discovery Series with a Women’s Weekend that will include discussions on empowerment, relationships, sex, style and cooking, along with fitness activities, special shopping opportunities and a benefit gala.

Set for March 27-30, the weekend will include a 2-mile walk through The Greenbrier’s grounds, led by fitness instructor Janna Oxendine, and a fun run/walk, hosted by the resort’s fitness manager, Josh Beverage.

Continuing the healthy theme, Sue Moats of The Greenbrier’s culinary team will present a demonstration on healthy foods, followed by a “super foods”-inspired luncheon, and Connie Gottshall, a registered dietitian with The Greenbrier Clinic, will share new information on women’s metabolism and advice on how small adjustments can have an impact on everyday life.

Wendy Griffith, news anchor and senior reporter for the Christian Broadcasting Network, will read from her book “You are a Prize to be Won!” in which she shares the heartbreaking experiences that have helped her define real love.

On the lighter side, Beverley East, graphologist and author of “Finding Mr. Write,” will offer a look at what handwriting says about a person, including that perfect mate, and discounts will abound in The Greenbrier’s retail collection in the resort’s shops. A portion of the proceeds from all items purchased by Women’s Weekend registrants between 2 and 8 p.m. will benefit participating charities.

Also, Judith Seifer, Ph.D., R.N., one of America’s leading sex experts, will deliver a lecture in the Eisenhower Room, telling women “what is essential and how to achieve it,” according to promotional material released by the resort.

The weekend will conclude with a gala dinner benefiting the Mountaineer Autism Project in the resort’s Colonial Hall, along with a farewell breakfast in the Chesapeake Room, capped off with a presentation by comedian/author Shellie Tomlinson, who will share experiences of women, for woman and about women and the lives they lead.

The gala and the breakfast are also open to nonregistered guests on an a la carte basis.
