An old-fashioned square dance will be held on the stage at Carnegie Hall Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. featuring the music of the Black Twig Pickers with caller Mike Costello.
Join in the fun as Carnegie celebrates its second anniversary. Admission for Carnegie’s second anniversary of square dances is $5 at the door. Beginners are welcome.
Carnegie square dances are held in September, November, February, April and June, featuring musicians and callers from around the region. It is part of the Mountain Music Trail, a collaborative project between five counties that promotes traditional music, dance and folkways of the Allegheny Mountain region.
Square dances are a part of Carnegie's efforts to preserve the musical heritage of the Appalachian Mountains.
