A spaghetti dinner Thursday evening being served in the parish hall of St. Charles Borromeo is sponsored by the Alleghany Highlands Council 8689 Knights of Columbus to help fund Christmas, community and church projects.
The menu includes homemade meat or vegetarian sauces, cole slaw, hard rolls, coffee, tea, soft drinks and homemade desserts.
In addition to the dinner, the craft class at St. Charles Borromeo will have a table of hand-crafted Christmas items for sale and the Knights will have a display of religious Christmas cards for sale.
Projects funded through the dinner will include winter coat distribution in Greenbrier, Monroe, Pocahontas and Alleghany counties, donations to Christmas fund drives in five counties, food pantries support and wheelchair purchases.
For those who eat in, the price is simply a money donation; for to-go orders, it’s $7.
The dinner is in conjunction with Third Thursday in White Sulphur Springs, where downtown merchants will be open late and in particular, Gillespie Flowers on Main Street will be observing its 90th anniversary as White Sulphur Springs’ oldest family business.
