Signature Chefs AuctionCulinary event to benefit March of Dimes

The Beckley Signature Chefs Auction is being termed the “culinary event of the year.”

The fundraising event, which will take place at 6 p.m. Monday at Tamarack, pays tribute to the culinary experience of some of the area’s finest chefs.

All proceeds will benefit the March of Dimes.

“The Signature Chefs Auction features and promotes the local flavors of the area in an atmosphere that is both elegant and fun,” March of Dimes community director Meredith Aliff said.

Attendees will have an opportunity to bid on dining, entertainment and other packages during silent and live auctions.

“The heart of the evening is the live auction as the participating chefs, restaurants, hotels and other businesses donate unique and creative dining experiences and fun packages,” Aliff said.

Some of the items up for bid include a pink acoustic guitar autographed by two country music singers and two tickets to a Trace Adkins concert; dinner for 30 at Pasquale’s, which includes a glass of wine at each course; a Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner for 20 at Tamarack; and a day trip for four ziplining or rafting, along with a one-night cabin stay and complimentary dinner at Smokey’s on the Gorge.

Chefs from Pasquale’s, Smokey’s on the Gorge, Glade Springs, Tamarack, Mountain State University and Raleigh General Hospital are participating.

Proceeds will help further educational programs and research conducted by the March of Dimes, whose mission is to prevent birth defects and infant mortality and create public awareness of the organization’s mission.

Cost is $50 per person or $1,000 for a table of 10.

Games and entertainment will be provided.

The event is being sponsored by Raleigh General Hospital and WVVA.
