Thumbs up ... to Local Boy Scout Cody Jones, 17, of Shady Spring, for working on his final project to earn the top rank in Scouting — Eagle Scout. Jones decided to build a playground for New Life Baptist in White Oak. He has purchased a chainlink fence and is going to donate a swingset as well as provide picnic tables to put in and mulch part of the area.

Obesity continues to be one of the nation’s leading public health problems with a third of U.S. children and teens and more than two-thirds of adults being obese or overweight.
