— n Keaton Miles to transfer from WVU

West Virginia University basketball coach Bob Huggins announced Tuesday that Keaton Miles has asked for his release and plans to transfer.

Miles, a 6-foot-7 sophomore forward from Dallas, played in 29 games this past season, averaging 2.6 points and 1.7 rebounds per game.

n WVU coaches coming to Beckley Thursday

The Mountaineer Athletic Club Coaches Caravan will make two stops in the area with week, today in Bluefield at Thursday in Raleigh County.

Today’s event, which begins at 5:30 p.m., will be held at the Chuck Mathena Center and is sold out. Thursday’s event, also scheduled for a 5:30 p.m. start, will be at the Townsquare Pavillion at The Resort at Glade Springs.

West Virginia University athletic director Oliver Luck, along with head coaches Bob Huggins (men’s basketball), Dana Holgorsen (football), Jason Butts (gymnastics), Jill Kramer (volleyball) and Himmy King (rowing), will all be in attendance at both events. Assistant director of WVU bands Jay Drury will be at the Bluefield event.

The annual tour around the state gives MAC members and Mountaineer fans the chance to meet and visit with WVU coaches and administrators. All proceeds benefit the WVU Department of Intercollegiate Athletics.

Tickets are $50 per person and include admission and dinner.
