BUTLER, Pa. —
BUTLER, Pa. — The Butler Blue Sox broke open a tight game with three runs in the bottom of the sixth inning and went on to defeat the West Virginia Miners 8-2 Thursday.
Brett Sullivan did most of the damage for Butler with a triple and three RBIs, while the Blue Sox staff surrendered just four hits in the win.
The Miners started quick when Kenny May singled home Dale Davis in the first, but West Virginia could muster just two more hits the rest of the way.
The Miners look to break an early two-game losing skid tonight in a rematch with Butler at 7:05 p.m.
