BUCKHANNON — Evin Dusold threw for 233 yards as Concord defeated West Virginia Wesleyan 23-16 in its season finale Saturday.
Freshman Calvinaugh Jones rushed for 138 yards and a touchdown. Ben Nester also rushed for a score.
Ansel Ponder corralled nine passes for 106 yards through the air.
For the Bobcats, quarterback Nate Montana registered 199 yards passing and two touchdowns. Nyquan McGirt had five catches for 36 yards and a touchdown, while Justin Heinauer totaled four catches for 23 yards and a score.
Jake Lilly led the Mountain Lions with 10 total tackles, including nine solo stops. He also had two pass break-ups. Spenser Jordan recovered a fumble. Howard Jordan tallied a sack for a loss of six yards.
Shepherd 49, Fairmont State 23
SHEPHERDSTOWN — Bobby Cooper completed 27 of 38 passes for a school-record 430 yards and three touchdowns as Shepherd clinched the WVIAC championship.
Jihad Rasheed rushed 17 times for a game-high 95 yards to lead the Rams. Shepherd had 608 yards of total offense, while Fairmont State had 312. Shepherd limited the Falcons to minus-11 rushing yards on 16 carries.
Dominic Tolson had 10 tackles (eight solo), while senior linebacker A.J. Parrish added eight stops (seven solo) to lead the Shepherd defense.
Devin Cain and Nate Ingersoll each had 10 stops to pace the Pioneers.
Charleston 62, West Virginia State 0
CHARLESTON — Eight touchdowns and a pair of field goals vaulted the University of Charleston to a 62-0 rout of Kanawha Valley rival West Virginia State Saturday afternoon.
Senior running back Jordan Roberts made a splash in what could be his final career game, exploding for 301 total yards and setting a plethora of records. Roberts ran for an NCAA Division II-record 273 rushing yards in the opening half, 190 in a two-touchdown first quarter. The quick start was also enough to eclipse the school record for yards in a game, which was previously 229 yards set in 2009.
Roberts scored two additional touchdowns in the second quarter and one in the third en route to setting a school-record with five total touchdowns on the afternoon. He kept the record-setting going with his final touchdown run, putting him over the single season rushing record he set last season (1,430). Roberts’ total for 2012 is 1,572 yards on 238 attempts. His 46 touchdowns also set a UC record.
Glenville State 58, Seton Hill 2
GLENVILLE — Rahmann Lee had a monster afternoon for Glenville, registering 301 yards on the ground and five touchdowns in the victory.
Justin Feagin threw for 80 yards and a touchdown to Robert Jiles. Ronnie Mills rushed for a score for the Pioneers.
The Griffins totaled just 293 yards of offense. Andrew Jackson threw for 188 yards, with 100 going to D.J. Carter on nine receptions.
Darren Elliott led the Pioneers with seven tackles, five of them solo. He also registered an interception. Gary Henderson totaled eight stops while James Johnson had nine.
GSC opened a 27-2 halftime lead behind three touchdown runs from Lee. In the second half, he registered a 97-yard burst for a 41-2 advantage.
West Liberty 23, UNC-Pembroke 22
WEST LIBERTY — West Liberty overcame a 22-10 deficit to post a 23-22 win over visiting UNC-Pembroke.
L.D. Crow threw for 109 yards for the Hilltoppers. Brandon Schroeder hauled in nine catches for 82 yards. Isiah Moody rushed for 129 yards and a score on 30 carries.
