West Virginia to meet Kansas in Big 12 baseball tournament

IRVING, Texas — Third-seeded West Virginia will take on No. 6 Kansas on the first day of the 2013 Phillips 66 Big 12 Baseball Championship, set for Wednesday through Sunday at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark in Oklahoma City.

The Mountaineers swept the Jayhawks April 26-28 in a weekend series at Beckley’s Linda K. Epling Stadium.

 Regular season champion Kansas State enters the tournament as the No. 1 seed.

First-day matchups include (all times Eastern):

Division One: No. 5 Baylor vs. No. 4 Oklahoma, 10 a.m.; No. 8 Texas Tech vs. No. 1 K-State, 1:30 p.m.;

Division Two: No. 6 Kansas vs. No. 3 West Virginia, 5 p.m.; No. 7 TCU vs. No. 2 Oklahoma State, 8:30 p.m.

FOX Sports Media Group is televising the entire championship to a national audience for the first time. FOX Sports Networks (FSN) will televise the championship final. All games leading up to the final will air on FOX College Sports (FCS).

The winner of the 2013 Phillips 66 Big 12 Baseball Championship earns the league’s automatic bid into the 2013 Division I NCAA Baseball Championship. The Road to Omaha Selection Show will air at noon Monday, May 27, on ESPNU.
