WVU-Oklahoma game moved to Sept. 20
MORGANTOWN — West Virginia Director of Athletics Oliver Luck, in conjunction with the Big 12 Conference, has announced that the West Virginia-Oklahoma football game at Milan Puskar Stadium in Morgantown, will be moved to Saturday, Sept. 20. The originally scheduled date of Saturday, Sept. 27, will now be an open week. Times for the 2014 season will be announced at a later time.
West Virginia will open its 2014 season in the Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game against Alabama on Aug. 30 at Atlanta’s Georgia Dome.
WVU will announce its 2014 signees on Wednesday. The athletic department once again will produce a signing day Internet show from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., on WVUsports.com and announce the signees as they become official. The show will be hosted by Tony Caridi, Jeff Culhane and Dale Wolfley and will feature the assistant coaches, Holgorsen and other staff members.
The Mountaineers open spring practice on Sunday, March 2, and the annual Gold-Blue Spring Football Game will be on Saturday, April 12.

Staten named Phiilips 66 Big 12 Player of the Week
For the first time ever, a West Virginia player, junior guard Juwan Staten, is the Big 12 nen’s basketball Player of the Week.
Staten averaged 25 points, 7 assists and 4 rebounds as WVU secured wins at Baylor (66-64) and versus Kansas State (81-71). The junior guard opened the week with 15 points and nine assists against the Bears, including the game-winning shot with 3.1 seconds remaining. He followed that performance with a career-high 35 points and five assists in the victory over the Wildcats. Staten was 18-of-21 (.857) from the free throw line in that game, tying the school record for free throws made.
Overall, he leads the Big 12 in assists, assist-to-turnover ratio and minutes played and also ranks first in the league in scoring (20.4 ppg) for conference games only.
