WVIAC: Glenville holds off Charleston 14-10

Glenville State 14, Charleston 10

GLENVILLE — Glenville State used two second-quarter scores and held off a late drive by Charleston to down the 25th-ranked Golden Eagles, 14-10.

Quarterback Justin Feagin completed seven passes for 66 yards and a touchdown in the win. Rahmann Lee rushed for 128 yards on 22 carries. Orlandus Harris caught three passes for 25 yards while Harper caught two for 23 yards and a score.

UC’s John Knox hit 15 passes for 163 yards in the loss. Shaq Williams caught a game-high six passes for 46 yards. Jordan Roberts rushed for 142 yards on 23 carries and a touchdown.

Glenville’s Darren Elliott and Nate Ingersoll amassed 12 total tackles in the victory. Jeff Green paced UC with 13 total tackles, and he and Nathaniel Berry forced a fumble apiece. Matt Kelly had an interception.

W.Va. Wesleyan 42, W.Va. State 14

INSTITUTE — Nate Montana threw for 414 yards and four touchdowns to lift the Bobcats.

Lavaughn Hughes hauled in nine passes for 187 yards and two scores. Nyquan McGirt caught five passes for 83 yards and a touchdown.

Chase Blackwell hauled in six passes while Devin Simmons had two catches, one of which went for a score. Malcolm Yowk rushed for 59 yards.

State’s Ricky Phillips tossed for 249 yards and two scores in the loss. Aubura Taylor garnered 80 yards on five catches and a score while Josh Johnson caught six passes for 71 yards and a touchdown. Taylor rushed for a team-high 33 yards.

Defensively, Wesleyan’s Jesse Robertson posted 11 tackles. The Yellow Jackets’ Tyler Long tallied 13 tackles and forced a fumble.

West Liberty 41, Seton Hill 29

GREENSBURG, Pa. — West Liberty led from start to finish after Marquis Bradley intercepted a pass and returned it 45 yards for a 7-0 advantage.

L.D. Crow threw for 124 yards and a touchdown in the victory while Dylan Lagarde tossed for 70 yards and a score for the Hilltoppers.

Brandon Schroeder led the receivers with 47 yards on three catches and a touchdown while Jesse Rose had 34 yards on six catches with a score. On the ground, Isiah Moody rushed for 119 yards and a touchdown.

Marco Ricchetti paced the defense with a team-best 12 stops. Kyle Agustin notched 11 tackles, nine of which were solo.

In the loss, Andrew Jackson threw for 439 yards on 34 completions along with four touchdowns. Niko Hall-Brown hauled in 11 passes for 223 yards and a score.

Defensively for the Griffins, Tyler Zimmer accounted for 14 tackles, 11 of which were solo.
