A new, unique and innovative stone veneer product line called M-Rock Mortarless Stone Innovations was introduced by M-Rock Stone Manufacturing Tuesday in Peterstown.
It is said to be a game changer in the world of building and remodeling.
Manufactured stone has been a staple in the building industry for three decades, according to Megan Mann, professional representative for M-Rock, but this product is the evolution of stone veneer.
“In today’s world, everyone is looking for ways to save time and money but still wants products that look professional. Everyone wants a product they can incorporate into their home, and that is what is so exciting about the versatility of this product,” she explained. “It can be used in interior or exterior applications, and everyone is going to feel confident installing it because it’s so easy.”
M-Rock MSI is unique because it is installed with screws, not mortar. MSI’s “Stack and Fasten” technology utilizes a patented rail system that locks the stones together as they are installed.
Mann explained why the company created the new product.
“We wanted to solve a lot of problems with our traditional, existing products,” she said. “A lot of the problems experienced with traditional products was having to hire a mason because general contractors don’t really know how to install it correctly, and it is time consuming,” she said.
“We love our existing products, but in an attempt to solve some of the problems associated with it, we started to design a product that would be easier to install and more cost effective. In those processes, they came up with Mortarless Stone Innovation, a stone veneer product that installs with screws instead of mortar.”
With a company slogan like “I can do that,” Mann says this product speaks to the do-it-yourselfer for many reasons.
“It is a product that everyone is going to look like a pro when you do it. We really wanted it to be do-it-yourself friendly, which is what drove us in the direction of this project because we wanted anyone to be able to do it,” she said.
Aside from looking good, you will also save money, Mann says.
“We have estimated a 90 percent savings on the install because you don’t need a lot of the prep work involved with traditional stone or natural stone products,” she said.
“Many contractors don’t know how to install traditional stone veneer, but this is installed very similar to a vinyl siding product so if they know how to do that, they can install this stone. They won’t have to outsource this to another contractor, which will save so much time and money on the install.”
She said M-Rock MSI is designed to be quick and easy to install and constructed for durability. It provides a rich stone look as well as a simple method of application.
Mann said multiple styles will be available, from “Horizon Dry Stack” to “Indian Creek Canyon,” and she said there is a style to fit every need.
