What’s in a name?
For EvriChart in White Sulphur Springs, the new moniker better represents the scope of its health records business.
As the company’s Web site for the business formerly known as HCR Imaging touts, they are “the company of record” and are on the cutting edge of the Electronic Health Care Initiative.
Tony Maro is chief information officer, John King is chief operating officer and Susan Seams is office manager. They lead the management team for EvriChart. They say EvriChart has evolved to a company that can fulfill the mandate that President Barack Obama and Gov. Joe Manchin have for electronic health records.
“We can help health care facilities with every chart, whether they need storage, scanning, documenting hosting or to go completely paperless,” Maro said.
Maro says in four years they have taken a decaying manufacturing facility and transformed it into a state- of-the-art technological center for electronic health record storage with a two terabyte system, as well as an extensive 70,00-square-foot climate controlled and security protected physical storage facility.
“EvriChart has gone from employing seven to 42 employees, with potential for expansion,” he said. “Our site is bustling with activity, as we serve a great need in the health care industry.”
EvriChart makes health records available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, through EvriChart Client Portal, King explained.
“We have four software patents pending to better facilitate chart retrieval and accuracy,” he said. “We have services to meet every need including becoming an extension of a HIM department with EvriChart Clear. Or if an ongoing MPI (Master Patient Index) analysis service is out of reach, an affordable solution is EvriChart MPI Cleanup. If document hosting requires more cost, and more staff's time than is available, we have SaaS (Software as a Service) Web-based solution, EvriChart Document Hosting.”
EvriChart now hosts 9 million medical records and they have contracts with over 50 community hospitals, clinic and physician’s practices in 19 states, according to King.
“Our services have been extremely important for those going through insurance and privacy compliance audits, as well as litigation,” he said.
Their record keeping can also facilitate reimbursement.
“EvriChart is fulfilling the mandate that President Obama and Gov. Manchin have set forth in going with electronic health records for accuracy, efficiency, environmental and economic reasons,” King said.
