OAK HILL —
Grant’s Supermarket is scheduled to open Wednesday in Oak Hill, according to one of the owners, Ron Martin.
This addition marks the 11th store in the chain between the two Virginias.
Martin said the owner of Value Plus, the grocery store formerly located in Oak Hill, called a few months ago to let him know the store was going out of business. The former owner wanted to know if Martin could hire any of his employees.
Grant’s owners decided to set up shop in the old Value Plus, located at 3 Church St. in Oak Hill.
Martin said 11 or 12 Value Plus employees have been hired, but some had already found other employment.
A total of 25 employees will be hired, Martin said, and applications can be filled out online at www.grantssupermarket.com.
They hope to open Wednesday and were scheduled for Health Department inspection Friday.
“We’re very excited to come to Oak Hill and look forward to serving the area,” Martin said.
Other Grant’s stores can be found in Green Valley, Bluefield, War, Tazewell, Richlands, Rich Creek, Narrows, and three in Princeton.
Hours of operation for the Oak Hill location will be 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily.
Weekly specials, a recipe club, a chance to win groceries and much more can be found online at www.grantsupermarket.com.
