Full moon tours ‘breathtaking’

By Carl “Butch” Antolini

— Looking for a truly unique, breathtaking experience?

Book one of Bridge Walk’s full moon tours. Experience a stroll underneath the New River Gorge Bridge relying only on the beams of the moon to light your way.

As your tour moves from the south entrance of the catwalk to the north, look behind you to see the shadow of the massive structure illuminated along the southern slopes of the gorge.

Approaching the center of the bridge you will begin to notice a glow directly below that quickly turns into a glittering display as the moon's reflection dances off the flowing rapids of the river more than 800 feet down.

For three days every month these full moon tours are offered, weather permitting.

The next set of lunar-lighted tours are scheduled to be held next weekend. For more information about Bridge Walk call 304-574-1300 or go to their website at www.bridgewalk.com
